This set is advertised for 7-12 year olds. I put it together with my 5 year old, and while he had some issue with the smaller 1x1 pieces, he was able to do the bulk of the construction himself, including 'reading' the instructions and finding where the pieces go. I believe it took us right at an hour to construct, although we did take breaks to battle with the two minifigs. The cockpit does not close down completely. It is hinged, but there are legos directly underneath the connection piece that looks like it should be able to close completely if you do not want it opened, but they don't reach. The set comes with a bench that gets dropped inside a box, which is then secured inside the back of the cockpit. As the bench does not attach anywhere, it produces a rattling sound when the Freeco speeder is flown. The minifigs are nice, although I do not think that Anakin looks much like Anakin. The other minifig, Thi-Sen, does not come with a traditional head with detachable helmet but is a customized piece. This is a little disappointing in that it is less interchangeable with other lego sets, but it is pretty cool as it is. Neither minifig will fit into the cockpit wearing their weapon. One of the 'feet' pieces on the bottom of the speeder keeps falling off on our set. Nothing looks faulty, but when the speeder is picked up, three times out of five the foot will remain on the table. The image of the box shows a round sticker placed on the side of the cockpit. You only get one of these stickers, so we placed ours on top, where it was a little more symmetrical. There is a lot of extra/hidden detail, and it was a blast to create. At the end of the build, we had about six pieces extra - a couple of custom pieces that will be fun to modify in other builds. We picked it up for $15 just before Christmas, so it was a great deal.I have noticed a bunch of the reviews for this product are from moms saying that their six year old son enjoyed it. I have enjoyed Lego since about that age, and twenty years later I still get so much joy out of a simple toy. I enjoy them b/c they are novel, quality products and allow for imagination at all ages (while helping develop/practice skills such as problem-solving and following directions.) I have noticed over the years, how much Lego emphasizes making the instruction book the best it can be by making the steps easy to understand. Overall, I think they have really improved how "user-friendly" the instruction books are. They really break it down well. I enjoy the innovation of Lego and have been really impressed with how they handle the movie franchise sets, esp. the Star Wars sets.I have a bunch of the more recent Star Wars sets, "Darth Vader's Tie Fighter," "Plo Koon's Starfighter," "Luke's Landspeeder," etc. and this one goes along great with all those. This model is based off a model from the Star Wars Clone Wars series and you can find out more info about it here:[...]The likeness is definitely there! The build was pretty straight-forward, and the end model is sturdy. Looks sleek. Comes with two mini-figures, pretty standard. The two figures are detailed and unique. The minifigs are always one of the best parts of a particular set. Another solid Star Wars Lego product.I payed $20 for this set on Amazon (at time of posting.) I think that is a great deal. It is $27.99 at Toys R Us and $24.99 at Target (at time of posting.) I love Amazon and think they have great deals and selection on all toys, esp Lego. I have also been impressed with Amazon's service, packaging and delivery. Keep it up guys. I appreciate it.We bought this for my son for Christmas. He is almost 7 and he had it put together within 30min-1hr from the time he opened it. We love the legos because it helps him with his imagination and skills of putting things together, taking them apart, putting them back together or creating something new. He loves his Legos and plays everyday with them.Glad I purchased this as a desk ornament. it fits with the scale of the rest of my little desk corner display and I love the fact I was finally able to get something from the Clone Wars that wasn't a massive star fighter set. goes together quickly and as LEGO's usual the instructions are very clear. When I was building it I had doubts about it holding up when played with. My son, almost 4, plays with it and it's still together. The minifigures are and design are pretty cool for a smaller set. I got it at a decent price too (on sale for $20).Anton loves Lego's and I had purchased one for Christmas earlier in December. Unfortuneately, it was delivered and someone stole it. I reordered and he received it again before his 7th Birthday and he loved it. We got to work on it together and he loves it. Thank You for wonderful Legos Star Wars.My 8 year old received this for Christmas and he liked it. He is still working on it and so far no complaints on it being too difficult. He loves Star Wars and Indiana Jones stuff, so this was right up his alley.i got this product and built it in almost 15 minutes. it is fun to build though. don't get me wrong. i thought it was great. little kids (around 5-12 or 13) would love this. it's perfect to go with a collection.xmas present - my grandson loves this, kept his father quiet xmas day building it.
