I recently heard good things about this set, so I decided to get it and see what was so great about it. This set is an "Amazon Exclusive" so you can only get it from Amazon or Lego themselves, unless you but it secondhand. The build took roughly 2.5 hours at a casual pace, and when I finished, It looked pretty cool. The minifigures in the set included Darth Vader, which had nothing new or exclusive about it, but it was nice to get him. The set also included 2 royal guards, which were not new, but a nice inclusion as well. The imperial Transport Pilot is new and exclusive to this set with great printing, but you do not see this character in any of the Star Wars movies. BACTA TANK DARTH VADER. this, in my opinion is the highlight minifigures of the set. His legs have dual-molded printing, and looks awesome. The set also includes a Mouse Droid which is nice to get. The castle itself is seen in Rouge One, and will also be seen in the new Darth Vader VR experience. The front has a cool lava flow and great trans-red pieces for an ominous feel to the castle. The back of the castle is open, so you can easily access the interior. On the bottom level, which is supposed to be "underground" there is a hanger for Darth Vader's Tie Advanced, and on the right side, has a docking station for the Mouse Droid and some racks that hold ammo for the Tie Advanced. There is also a little hidden feature where you can move part of the rock formation ro reveal as red kyber crystal. On the other side, there is a sith shrine with a holocron element. It also has 2 all black microfigures on each side of it, which are cool. There is also the same feature where you can move part of the rock formation to reveal a lightsaber hilt. AMD the second level, or the "ground level" there is Darth Vader's Bacta Tank that can easily be removed to put Bacta Tank Darth Vader in it. There is also a control pad on the left, and an opening door for Darth Vader to walk out on the right. There is enough space on this floor to fit the two royal guards on this level. Because this set has a triangle facade to it, the third level has less floor space than the lower two levels. This level has Darth Vader's meditation chamber, which is nice, but does not close in the "teeth" motion that the one in the movie does. Instead, the top part of it just sits on top of the bottom part and it has gaps that do not look good. The level also features a hologram of Emperor Palpatine, which is the same one we have gotten for the past couple of years, and a lightsaber holder. The top level is supposed to be a scaled down version of the scene with Darth Vader and Director Krennic from Rogue One, although Director Krennic is not included. The level Also has a stud shooter turret on a ball joint so it can swivel, which it think is a nice and practical inclusion. The set also features Darth Vader's TIE Advanced, which is different than the one in the Death Star set, and has just enough space for Darth Vader, and also has two stud shooters.Final verdict -Build - intermediate - 7/10Minifigures - 5 minifigures - 8.5/10Play features - 7/10Display - 8.1/10Price to volume of stuff you get - good, 6.8/10The price is a little high, but because it is an Amazon exclusive, you probably will not see it on sale. The minifigures are amazing, but the meditation chamber is in need of modifications. Overall, this is one of the better building-based sets, and I'm looking forward to seeing what the Lego designers do next time.
