At this point it's safe to say my son is a LEGO fanatic. His favorites are Star Wars/Clone Wars, but the police/city/boat and Alien Conquest sets are close behind. He recently turned 9 and has gotten to the point where he is building pretty much everything independently (much to the chagrin of my hubby who likes to build too). He loves the boat sets as he will then take them into the bathroom (and yes, they do float). This particular set has been a lot of fun given there is a lot more to it than just a boat and he can integrate the pieces into his other sets. He also has enjoyed getting some random several pound lots from 'a certain on-line auction website'--when he's not building space ships with them he will be using them for building more boats. This activity works great with the Harbor set (especially when he has built the boat/spaceship combination vehicle...).In any case, like all the LEGO sets of late, he has had a lot of fun building them (he always builds them 'right' the first time), taking them apart, reworking them and creating new pieces. This particular set is well suited for the multiple scenarios he comes up with.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!JTGedited for ridiculous spelling error...My kids love legosI was a little hesitant when buying this set for my 3yo but he convinced me that he was grown up enough for it so I caved in. The boat is very sturdy and well made and also makes for a great bath time toy as it really floats. The crane and the conveyer belt also work great and gives the child a good simulation of the real thing. All said it's a great set and any child will enjoy it.What could possibly be wrong with Legos. Arrived quick. In new condition and we just love to play with the Harbor . It was a great addition to our city. My son was hoping for the old edition blue boar but the collector's item prices are way to high....who can afford that???Thanks for a quick delivery! This set is ok considering the price. The boat is by far the best part about it....the other part I could do without...my son enjoyed it though and it was fairly easy to put together. He is 7 and did most of it by himself. However, 3 months later and the boat is all that is still together. My 11 year old Grandson loves Lego gifts. He had this one built by the day after Christmas, then couldn't wait to show it off. He had his Mom email me a picture and short movie of him pointing out the features he had just built. All in all it was a very successful gift. This was a great addition to our Lego harbor, until the great pirate raid of April, in which the harbor was destroyed, along with the Coast Guard cutter. What can you say about LEGO? This is exactly what I expected, and the price was more than fair. My 8 yr. old son LOVED seeing this under the tree! My only "beef" is that I didn't get the credit for giving it to him! ;)
